It might seem like you can just hang a chandelier and your living room will magically transform into the Metropolitan Opera House. I know from too much experience, it won’t, but a girl can dream. I must admit, however, that my old apartment in New York City with four mismatched living room couches shoved in a corner, a table covered in plastic bags, and gentlemen roommates playing beer pong, was somehow redeemed by the huge chandelier glistening overhead. Nonetheless, coordinating a chandelier requires attention to the art of design.<\/p>\n

I recommend playing some up tempo Beethoven as you peruse the pictures in this blog.<\/p>\n

It is recommended that for a table of 4 to 6 people, the chandelier’s diameter should be between 20″ and 24″. With a table that seats 6 to 8, diameter can be between 25″ and 29″. If the chandelier hangs above a table, it needs 30″ to 32″ of distance from the surface.<\/p>\n
